About Blind Monkeys
Don't be a blind monkey.
What Blind Monkeys Is
- Free and open-source. Released under the MIT License. Full source code is publicly auditable at git.sr.ht/~deanpowers/blind-monkeys.
- A scanning and scoring tool. Blind Monkeys surfaces coins that meet measurable technical criteria. It does not predict the market.
- Non-custodial, always. We never ask for a wallet connection, an API key, an exchange login, or a deposit. There is nothing to connect.
- Ad-free and track-free. No advertising, no analytics that follow you across the web, no third-party scripts beyond fonts and embedded videos.
What Blind Monkeys Is Not
- Not a fund. We do not hold, manage, or custody user funds of any kind.
- Not an exchange or broker. We do not execute trades, route orders, or interact with your accounts anywhere.
- Not a signals service. Scores reflect technical indicators only — they are data, not recommendations.
- Not financial advice. Nothing on this site constitutes investment, trading, legal, or tax advice.
How the Scanner Works
Each coin receives a composite score built from four technical indicators. Two scanning profiles apply different thresholds:
| Profile | Z-Score | Momentum | Volatility | RSI | Character |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🛡️ Conservative | < −1.0 | > 5 | < 8 | < 70 | Mildly oversold, quiet recovery. Safer setups, fewer results. |
| 🎲 Risk-Taker | < −1.5 | > 10 | < 25 | < 60 | Deeply oversold, strong bounce. More aggressive, more results. |
The Tagline
"Don't be a blind monkey."
Most retail crypto decisions are made without data — chasing tweets, following influencers, buying at the top. Blind Monkeys exists to change that. Not by predicting the future, but by surfacing coins that meet measurable, transparent technical criteria you can inspect yourself.
