Futures Order Compounding
How the size of each new futures order grows and shrinks with trading results.
Futures Order Compounding is the rule Blind Monkeys uses to size each new futures order. Every order starts from a baseline of $100. After a winning trade (take-profit hit), the next order grows by 25%. After a losing trade (stop-loss hit), the next order shrinks by 25%. This lets the system press winning streaks and pull back during losing streaks — automatically.
How it works
- Baseline: The first order (and the amount the algorithm always starts from) is $100.
- After a take-profit (TP): the next order size is increased by 25% of the current amount.
- After a stop-loss (SL): the next order size is decreased by 25% of the current amount.
- Floor: order size never drops below $10.
- Ceiling: order size is also bounded by the daily cap — compounding can never push total daily buying past the cap.
Worked example
QNT example: A futures order of $100 is opened and hits its 3% take-profit. The next order the algorithm places will be $125 ($100 + 25%). If that trade instead hits its stop-loss, the order after it drops back to $93.75 ($125 − 25%).
Safety guards
- Max concurrent positions: no more than 3 open futures positions at once.
- Auto-open limit: at most 1 position opened per scan run.
- Daily cap: total amount bought per day is capped (default $500) — compounding cannot exceed it.
- Manual override: the user can always set the next order amount manually in the futures settings; the algorithm resumes compounding from the next filled trade.
